June Wine Club Wines:

Bob’s Chenin Blanc, South Africa                      

This Chenin Blanc has a nose suggestive of spring flowers with hints of honeysuckle, all supported by balanced clean acids. Floral notes open to a mid-palate suggestive of guava and melon flavors. The wine finishes dry and lingers long on the palate.

La Perle D’Argent White Bordeaux, France                       

Sauvignon, Semmillon, and Muscadell create a crisp, juicy Bordeaux with creamy citrus and tropical notes with a lovely acidity and a crisp finish.

Las Rocas Sauvignon Blanc, France                                     

Refreshingly dry but beautifully fruity, this delicate Sauvignon Blanc delights with its gooseberry and pineapple flavours, zingy acidity and creamy finish.

Horizon du Sud Pinot Noir, France                             

The nose has little berry notes. The palate is Light and balanced, we can find flavor of red and black berry. Tannins are subtle and soft. 

Bob’s Pinotage, South Africa                                        

This Pinotage presents a nose suggestive of Oregon Pinot Noir; dried red berry fruit dominates the palate, all supported by soft balanced tannins.

La Perle D’Argent Red Bordeaux, France                           

Notes of cassis and bright red fruit. Good mouthfeel with sweet dark fruit. Well balanced, with tannic, fine finish.

August 2019 Wine Club Selection

Skeleton Gruner Veltliner, Austria                        

Fresh, fruity, and above all, food-friendly, this Gruner shows off the charms that make the grape Austria’s favorite white wine varietal. A racy wine with explosive fruit flavors, a light mineral undercurrent, and a full, expansive finish. And did we mention it comes in a liter bottle?  That’s a whole extra glass of wine!

La Mura Bianco, Sicily                         

Comprised of 100% Sicilian-native Cattaratto this wine shows aromas of citrus and tropical fruits that carry over to the palate.   The fruit is mouth‐filling with excellent balancing acidity. Ideally drunk chilled, on its own, or with light seafood.

Mapreco Vihno Verde, Portugal

This “green wine” is comprised of Arinto de Bucelas, Loureiro, Trajadura, and Albarino.  Crisp fresh fruit on the nose evolves to green apple and pear on the palate.  Light, fresh, and refreshingly acidic, with a hint of effervescence, this is the perfect wine to get through those Dog Days of Summer!                                     

Veuve Parisot Blanc de Blancs, France                                        

Comprised primarily of Chardonnay, and produced in the French Charmat Method, this value priced sparkler shows pale and brilliant yellow, with fine lingering bubbles and delicate fresh fruit notes. Well balanced, fresh and crispy, this delightfully harmonious sparkling wine is perfect as a before or after dinner drink, with hors-d’oeuvres or dessert!

Mapreco Vinho Verde Rose, Portugal                                                       

Light, fresh and fruit driven with a little sparkle. A definite summer wine and a perfect partner for dining al fresco.

La Mura Nero Rosso, Sicily                           

Comprised of 100% Nero D’Avola, is packed with red berry fruit and cherry flavors.  On the palate, it is soft, approachable and accessible to a variety of palates.  This light and juicy red can be paired with pasta, pizza, or enjoyed on its own.
